Stephen Baldwin, Michael Madsen, Michael Rivera and T-Bone have rounded out the principal cast on Reverence Gospel Media’s faith-based urban drama I’m In Love With A Church Girl.

They will join Ja Rule and Cheetah Girls performer Adrienne Bailon on the true-life tale of a retired drug dealer who goes straight but struggles to relinquish ties with his criminal friends.

Reverence Gospel Media founder Galley Molina wrote the screenplay based on his own life and Stave Race is directing. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in San Jose on May 13 and parts will be shot in San Francisco in May.

“The message of this film is really simple but profound,” Molina said. “Sometimes god needs to use extreme measures to deal with extreme circumstances. I was that extreme circumstance. This film is simply about the power of god in a man’s life.

“The unique part of this story aside from being based and inspired on my real life experiences is that I wrote it while I was incarcerated in a Federal Prison on Drug Trafficking charges.”

Reverence Gospel Media intends to produce two to three commercial faith-based films a year budgeted under $20m.
