Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell [pictured], Joseph Fiennes, Rebecca Ferguson, Aksel Hennie and John Hurt have joined the cast of Paramount and MGM’s Hercules.

Dwayne Johnson stars in the graphic novel adaptation, which Brett Ratner is scheduled to commence shooting in May.

Radical Studio’s graphic novel source material Hercules: The Thracian Wars is styled as an action ensemble, revisionist take on the Greek myth set in a world without supernature. Ryan Condal and Evan Spiliotopoulos adapted the screenplay.

Beau Flynn, Barry Levine and Ratner produce and executive producers are Peter Berg, Sarah Aubrey and Jesse Berger.

Hercules marks MGM’s second original project in addition to Vin Diesel-starrer The Machine, set to begin production later this year.

MGM and Paramount are partners on GI Joe: Retaliation, which also stars Johnson and is set for release on Mar 28.

The MGM roster includes the Carrie reboot with Screen Gems on Oct 18 and The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug with New Line and Warner Bros on Dec 13.
