EXCLUSIVE: Bankside handles sales on London-set debut from Anthony Wilcox; Michael Winterbottom and Andrew Eaton executive-produce; shoot kicks off Monday.

Shooting begins next Monday [21 Jan] on writer-director Anthony Wilcox’s London-set debut feature Hello Carter, the comedy adapted from his buzz short of the same name.

Stardust and Boardwalk Empire star Charlie Cox will star in the title role as Carter, alongside Jodie Whittaker, Paul Schneider, Judy Parfitt, Antonia Thomas, Henry Lloyd Hughes and Annabelle Wallis.

Title character Carter has hit rock bottom. In the space of a year he has become homeless, single and unemployed. Desperate to win back his elusive ex-girlfriend and reverse his fortunes, he embarks on a mad trail around London in search of her, picking up some unlikely accomplices along the way.

Julian Bird from JLB Productions produces alongside Fiona Neilson, whose credits include Ashes and the upcoming Spike Island.

Bankside Films is handling worldwide sales. Michael Winterbottom and Andrew Eaton of Revolution Films are on board as executive producers.

Writer-director Anthony Wilcox, whose assistant director credits include The Deep Blue Sea, W.E., Bright Star, Hot Fuzz and The End of the Affair,  said: “It’s incredibly exciting for me to be directing my first feature film in London with the support of such a talented and experienced cast and crew.
