Palminteri will star alongside John Travolta, Al Pacino and Ben Foster in Gotti: In The Shadow Of My Father.
Chazz Palminteri has signed on to play mafia boss Paul Castellano in Fiore Films’ Gotti: In The Shadow Of My Father, about the son of the late mob boss John Gotti.
As previously reported, John Travolta, Al Pacino, Kelly Preston and Ben Foster will also star in the film, which is being directed by Barry Levinson and scripted by James Toback and is due to shoot on location in New York in January 2012.
Palminteri is best known for writing and starring in A Bronx Tale, a semi-autobiographical account of his childhood in New York, directed by Robert De Niro. His credits also include Analyze This, The Usual Suspects and Bullets Over Broadway, for which he was nominated for an Oscar.
“Chazz’s abilities as an actor, director, writer and producer make him one of the great talents of our time,” said producer Marc Fiore. “He is a natural to play the role of Paul Castellano and is a solid addition to our all-star cast.”
