Neal Shusterman’s young adult sci-fi bestseller takes place in a dystopian future where parents can elect to donate their teenage children’s organs.

Shusterman recently published Unwholly, the sequel to Unwind. His credits include The Skinjacker Trilogy and Downsiders.

Robert Kulzer, co-president of the German powerhouse’s Los Angeles hub, brought Unwind to the company and will produce alongside Marc Benardout, Catherine Kimmel, Julian Stone and Charlotte Stoudt of Stay Whole Productions.

Constantin Film board member Martin Moszkowicz will serve as executive producer.

The company’s adaptation of The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones is due out next summer through Screen Gems. David Garrett’s Mister Smith handles international sales.
