Bruce Lee Enterprises CEO Shannon Lee is teaming up with Lawrence Grey and Janet Yang on a biopic about her iconic father.

The film is the first to be made with the full cooperation of Bruce Lee’s family. Ben Everard also produces.

Yang has been brought on to Bruce Lee Entertainment to help guide production and consult on the China market.

“There have been projects out there involving my father, but they’ve lacked a complete understanding of his philosophies and artistry,” said Lee.

“They haven’t captured the essence of his beliefs in martial arts or storytelling. The only way to get audiences to understand the depth and uniqueness of my father is to generate our own material and find amazing, like-minded partners to work with.”

“I have long been inspired by Bruce Lee and wanted to partner with Shannon in order to really delve into the depth of the icon in a way that has never before been seen on the screen,” said Grey. “It is really a dream project and the perfect partnership.”

In addition to the biopic, Bruce Lee Entertainment has a number of film and television projects in development including a television series based on an original idea and materials by Bruce Lee with director Justin Lin as well as a reality-based show to launch in China with Keanu Reeves and Stephen Hamel of Company Films.

UTA represents Bruce Lee Entertainment, which is also working on a series of novels based on Lee’s writings along with a comic book series. Subsidiary Bruce Lee Interactive created the game Bruce Lee: Enter The Game with Canadian developer, Hibernum Creations, which generated five million downloads in its first four weeks.
