DreamWorks, Participant acquire Church abuse story

DreamWorks and Participant Media are partnering on a drama about the Catholic Church sex scandal after acquiring rights to the story uncovered by the Boston Globe.

Tom McCarthy will direct and co-write the screenplay with Josh Singer. Steve Golin of Anonymous Content is among the producers.

The studios previously partnered on Lincoln, The Help, The Kite Runner, The Soloist and upcoming year-end release The Fifth Estate.
