David Duchovny, Academy Award nominee-Vera Farmiga, Keri Russell, Minnie Driver and Will Arnett have joined Red Crown Productions, Elliptical Films and Sandia Media’s coming-of-age comedy.

Francis Ford Coppola’s nephew Christopher Neil will make his directorial debut on the project, based on Mark Jude Poirier’s novel of the same title about a youngster who leaves his new age mother and stoner adopted father in the South-West for an East Coast prep school where his real father remains a legend.

Echo Bridge Entertainment will handle international sales and will present the film to buyers at the EFM next month, when principal production is scheduled to commence.

Goats also features previously announced cast members Graham Phillips and Ty Burrell. Red Crown Productions’ Daniela Taplin Lundberg will produce with Eric Kopeloff and Shannon Lail.

Richard Arlook of the Arlook Group will serve as executive producer with Daniel Crown and Riva Marker for Red Crown Productions. Peter Touche of Sandia Media will partially finance and executive produce as well.

Goatsis that wonderful combination of hilarious and poignant, and we’re so thrilled that actors as distinguished as this ensemble have responded to the script with such passion,” Lundberg said.

Lundberg launched Red Crown in 2010 and previously optioned the graphic novel Tumor for Samuel Bayer to direct.
