Film Bridge International holds worldwide rights to the comedic tale about women left to run a farm community during the first world war with only German POWs for company. Jon Amiel will direct and Jeanna Polley of London-based The Producers is producing.

The cast includes Lena Headey and German actors Ken Duken, Hanno Koffler and Alexander Scheer.

Production on The Poisoners, which is based on real events, is scheduled to begin in late summer in Ireland and at MMC Studios in Cologne, Germany.

Polley and her producing partner Jenny Edwards are in negotiations with James Flynn’s Irish production company Octagon Films Limited.
