Former Lionsgate senior executive Lisa Ellzey has joined the company as evp of US motion picture production based in Los Angeles and will report to CEO Christophe Lambert.

Ellzey’s arrival is seen as a crucial plank in the policy of EuropaCorp company founder Luc Besson, Lambert and members of the senior management team to accelerate growth at the Europe-based global studio.

“We are proud to have convinced such a highly-respected and admired Hollywood senior executive as Lisa to join our company,” said Lambert.

“Lisa has an amazing track record in the industry. Her arrival will help the studio take its international production capacity to the next level. Lisa’s appointment is the direct consequence of our ambition to double the volume of our English-language production slate in the coming years.”

“It’s an extraordinary honour to be joining EuropaCorp, a studio with a uniquely international brand,” said Ellzey, who recently served as evp of production at Lionsgate, served as an executive at Twentieth Century Fox and was president of Scott Free Entertainment.

“I’m looking forward to working with Luc and Christophe to create a Los Angeles presence as the company casts a wider net for talent, fuelling their expansion in an increasingly global marketplace.”

Ellzey is Golden Globe and Emmy winning producer. Her executive producer credits include Lionsgate’s Warrior.
