EXCLUSIVE: MPI/Dark Sky Films and Workshed Films have completed principal photography on Conor McMahon’s horror story in Laois, Ireland.

From The Dark stars Niamh Algar (pictured in exclusive, first-look photo), Stephen Cromwell and Gerry O’Brien. The story centres on a young couple on a road trip through the Irish countryside who encounter an ancient force of evil.

MPI Pictures Dublin produced From The Dark in partnership with Workshed films. McMahon earned a cult following through his earlier film, Stitches, which won the Carnet Jove Jury Award at Sitges 2012.

“McMahon has always had a unique cinematic vision and we’re thrilled to bring his fresh and twisted take to the genre in yet another one of his films,” said MPI Media Group evp Greg Newman.

The credits roster for MPI Media Group’s genre arm Dark Sky Films includes The Innkeepers, Stake Land, Late Phases, Frankenstein’s Army and Here Comes The Devil.
