The film will be based loosely on the book Dark Magus: The Jekyll And Hyde Life Of Miles Davis by the late jazz maestro’s eldest son Gregory Davis.

Producers Nick Davis Raynes and Ged Dickinson and Tillman Jr have been granted access to much of Davis’ music from the preiod from 1963 to 1977.

“Our intention is to make a feature film that will appeal beyond the worldwide audience of Miles Davis die-hard fans, to also include those who don’t know the first thing about the man, and introduce new ears to his music,” Nick Davis Raynes said.

Tillman’s past directorial work includes Soul Food, Men Of Honor, Notorious and Faster.
