Marilu Henner, Zak Orth and Malcolm McDowell have joined the cast of Red Hour Films and Lucky Monkey Pictures’ romantic comedy Vamps.

Amy Heckerling wrote and is directing the sub-$20m project in Detroit, Michigan. The previously announced cast includes Alicia Silvestone, Krysten Ritter, Sigourney Weaver, Richard Lewis and Kristen Johnston.

Vamps follows a pair of hedonistic vampires in Manhattan who face tough choices about their immortality after each meets a man.

Henner will portray a sick woman who is awakened to her former hot self. Orth will portray nerdy friend to one of the young female vampires, while McDowell will play Vlad Tepish, otherwise known as the Vlad The Impaler.

Lauren Versel, Molly Hassell, Maria Teresa Arida and Adam Brightman are producing. Parlay Films is the international sales agent.
