Hot projects on Screenbase

Sam Mendes will direct with Daniel Craig again starring in the latest Bond film, due to start shooting at the end of this year. The film will be co-produced by MGM and EON Productions and the script is written by Robert Wade, John Logan and Neal Purvis. The release is planned for November 2012.

Next month shooting will commence on French-Belgian-Estonian film Une Estonienne À Paris, about an encounter between two women who have lost faith in life. Jeanne Moreau and Laine Mägi will lead the cast in this drama which is co-written by the director Ilmar Raag, Agnès Feuvre and Lise Macheboeuf. Riina Sildos, Milena Poylo, Gilles Sacuto and Philippe Kauffmann jointly produce for Amrion, TS Productions and La Parti Production respectively. The film has received financing from Canal + and CinéCinéma.

Sylvie Testud is currently preparing her directorial debut feature La Vie D’une Autre, which will be filmed across Paris, Belgium and Luxembourg from April. The film centres on a young woman who falls in love, only to find herself a decade later the mother of a young boy and on the verge of a divorce. Testud also wrote the screenplay, which is based on the novel by Frédérique Deghelt. Juliette Binoche and Mathieu Kassovitz will star. ARP Sélection will produce and distribute the $6.5m feature in France, with Kinology handling international sales.

A wealthy couple’s son kills the family dog in a car accident but his antisocial behaviour casts doubt on whether it was only an accident in Jesus Monllaó’s Querido Caín. The thriller, written by Davi Victori and Sergio Barrejón (based on the eponymous novel by Garcia Baliño), is produced by Spanish production house Life & Pictures and has received financial aid from the Catalan Institute for Culture. Shooting will start in spring this year.
