Among the brand new additions to Screenbase are French adaption Delicacy, German film  Drei Zimmer Küche Bad, German-Polish co-production Lasting Moments, as well as UK feature I, Anna.

Delicacy tells the story of a charming young widow who kisses one of her colleagues. For her, it’s only a passing fancy but for him it’s a revolution. The film, which is based on David Foenkinos’ book La Délicatesse, is being produced by Xavier Rigault and Marc-Antoine Robert for French production house 2.4.7. Films. Foenkinos wrote the screenplay himself and is also co-directing with his brother Stéphane Foenkinos. Audrey Tautou [pictured], François Damiens, Bruno Todeschini and Joséphine de Meaux will star in this $9.3m production, due to start shooting in early March. The romantic comedy received financial support from France 2 Cinéma, Canal + and CinéCinéma among others. The film is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2012.

Last month shooting started on Dietrich Brüggemann’s  Drei Zimmer Küche Bad about eight friends who help each other move house during one year. The film, which stars Anna Brüggemann, Robert Gwisdek, Jacob Matschentz, Katharina Spiering and Alexander Khuon, has received financial backing from television channels ARTE and BR (Bayrischer Rundfunk) and is produced by Jochen Laube for teamworx. A sales agents and distributor are yet to be appointed.

Jacek Borcuch is currently working on Lasting Moments, due to start shooting this summer on locations near Potsdam in Germany, and then in the Polish cities of Kwidzyn and Krakow. The love story centres on a young Polish couple who meet while picking fruit in Germany and face new challenges when they’re back in Poland. Piotr Kobus and Agnieszka Drewno are producing for Mañana and Germany’s Pandora Film is also on board.

Last Friday (January 28) saw the start of shooting on I, Anna, a thriller about a suspect in a brutal murder case who falls for the detective in charge of the investigation. Based on the novel by Elsa Lewin, the film is written and directed by Barnaby Southcombe. Felix Vossen and Christopher Simon are producing for Embargo Films, Michael Eckelt for Riva Film and Ilann Girard for Arsam International. Charlotte Rampling and Gabriel Byrne are in the lead roles. Bavaria Film International is handling international sales and Artificial Eye will distribute in the UK, Cinemien in the Benelux countries and Warner Bros. Germany in Germany.
