German feature Schilf, and UK productions Truth About Lies and Disoriented are among the new films that have made its way on our European production database, Screenbase.

Claudia Lehmann explores the different perceptions of truth, reality and incidents happening in parallel universes in Schilf, which is currently shooting across the German regional state Thuringia, in Erfurt, Weimar and Jena. The co-production by X-Filme Creative Pool, Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) and Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) is based on a screenplay by Lehmann and Leonie Terfort and stars Stipe Erceg, Bernadette Heerwagen and Mark Waschke. Shooting on the drama/thriller will wrap at the end of June with X Verleih releasing the film in Germany. The feature received financial backing from the Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung, the German Federal Film Board and the German Federal Film Fund.

This October will see the start of principal photography for Truth About Lies, a Camden-set comedy-romance with a cast led by Billie Piper [pictured] and Ruth Wilson. Julian Rivett wrote the script and Robin Sheppard is attached to direct the $4.9m Motion Picture House Films production.

Dee Wallace, Michael Kearns, D.B Sweeney, Toby Green and Steve McCabe will star in Brian Skeet’s latest project Disoriented. The film is budgeted at $7m and centres on a gay love story, sexual intrigue, and murder, based on Skeet’s own script. Patricia Alston produces for Joan Productions. Shooting on the neo-noir thriller is scheduled to commence in September or October on location in Italy.
