Terence Davies is currently developing his latest production Mother Of Sorrows while Abdelatif Kechiche is preparing the shoot for Le Bleu Est Une Couleur Chaude.

Terence Davies [pictured] will adapt Richard McCann’s novel Mother Of Sorrows for the big screen. The story focuses on a man looking back at his childhood and will be told by using interwoven stories about a family’s life in the post-World War II suburbs of Washington DC. Joey Attawia, Jez Swimer and David Chikwe of Leopardrama are producing the drama. The US-UK co-production received funding from the EU MEDIA Programme.

Abdelatif Kechiche’s will direct his own adaptation of Le Bleu Est Une Couleur Chaude, based on Julie Maroh’s eponymous comic book. It follows a 15-year-old who discovers love for the first time when she falls for another woman. The love story is jointly produced by Belgium’s Scope Pictures, Spain’s Vertigo Films, as well as France’s Quat’sous Films , Wild Bunch Productions and France 2 Cinema. The film will star Léa Seydoux and Adèle Exarchopoulos with shooting scheduled to commence this month. Funding towards the $5.3m budget also came from Eurimages and CRRAV. Wild Bunch acquired international sales rights and will release the film across France.
