New films on Screenbase this week include a film about Valérie Trierweiler and a Hungarian drama set to star Michael Nyqvist.

Romarin Films’ Thank You For This Moment

Saida Jawad’s Romarin Films is set to produce a feature, currently in development, about Valérie Trierweiler’s relationship with French president François Hollande.

A shoot date is as yet undetermined.

Balint Kenyeres’s Hier

Young Hungarian auteur Kenyeres is about to direct his debut feature—starring Michael Nyqvist—about a wealthy businessman who goes to North Africa, where he is suddenly overwhelmed by memories of his youth.

The $1.2m film will shoot in Morocco this spring. Kenyeres made a name for himself at Cannes in 2009 with his short History of Aviation.

Bonded By Blood sequel

The sequel to UK 2010 drama will welcome new cast, as well as former actors reprising their roles. The screenplay is based on the crime book Essex Boys: The New Generation by Bernard O’Mahoney.

The film is in pre-production after producer Jonathan Sothcott acquired the rights to the book and made a deal with Gateway films, which produced the original film.
