Anthony Bregman of Likely Story and Peter Saraf and Marc Turtletaub of Big Beach have hired Hugh Dancy and Kathryn Hahn to join the comedy My Idiot Brother.

Shirley Knight and Janet Montgomery have also come aboard the project, which Jesse Peretz is currently shooting in New York. Previous cast members are Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, Emily Mortimer, Rashida Jones and Adam Scott.

Rudd stars as an idealistic man who brings chaos into the lives of his three ambitious sisters. Dancy will portray a pretentious painter who tries to help him develop as a responsible member of society.

Evgenia Peretz and David Schisgall wrote the script and Bregman, Saraf and Turtletaub are producing. Caroline Jaczko, Stefanie Azpiazu and Aleen Keshishian are serving as executive producers.

“The response to Jesse’s vision for the film and the disastrously funny script by Evegenia and David has been amazing, and we could not be more thrilled with the amazing actors that will bring these characters to life,” Saraf said.
