Diane Lane and Elizabeth Banks will star in Likely Story’s crime drama Every Secret Thing to be financed by Merced Media Partners, Palmstar Media Capital and Hyde Park Entertainment.

Ashok Amritraj’s Hyde Park International led by sales chief Eric Christenson has been introducing the project to buyers in Toronto.

Amy Berg will direct from Nicole Holofcener’s adaptation of the novel by Laura Lippman. Production is set for February 2013 on the story of two teenagers convicted of murdering a baby who are released from prison just as children start to go missing.

Likely Story’s Anthony Bregman will produce with Frances McDormand. Executive producers on the project are Merced’s Raj Singh, Stuart Brown, Palmstar’s Kevin Frakes, Hyde Park chief Ashok Amritraj and Likely Story’s Stefanie Azpiazu.

Craig Emanuel of Loeb & Loeb and Alexis Garcia of WME Global negotiated the deal on behalf of the filmmakers.

“Great, female-driven crime movies are few and far between – and one this original and surprising is like a gift,” Bregman said. “It’s gratifying that so many talented and enthusiastic collaborators agree – from the creative to the financial sides and everywhere in between.”

“There is a very talented group of filmmakers working on Every Secret Thing, and we look forward to working with all of them,” Singh and Frakes added. “We’re excited to be part of the team that will bring this highly regarded story to audiences worldwide.”

“This is a terrific story that has captured the attention of readers worldwide,” Amritraj said. “We are excited to work with Anthony, Amy, Diane. Elizabeth, Frances and our partners at Merced/Palmstar.”
