UPDATE: Jane Got A Gun financier Scott Steindorff confirmed the O’Connor development to ScreenDaily early on Wednesday morning [20], while separately sources close to the film said Jude Law has departed. Exclusive Media handles international sales.

O’Connor’s last feature was the well regarded Lionsgate release Warrior and more recently the New Yorker directed the pilot episode of DreamWorks Television’s series The Americans that runs on FX Network.

It is understood Law’s departure is no way related to the arrival of O’Connor and stems from the British star’s belief at time of signing on to the Western that Lynne Ramsay would be the director.

Steindorff was forced to scramble on Tuesday to find a replacement director on the Natalie Portman Western following the no-show by Ramsay, who failed to appear for the first day of shooting on Monday in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Portman stars in Jane Got A Gun alongside Joel Edgerton. Michael Fassbender left the project in early March after sources claimed he clashed with Ramsay.
