Attack the Block star joins Thandie Newton and Chewitel Ejiofor on cast of Potboiler’s drama.

Attack the Block star John Boyega has joined the cast of director Biyi Bandele’s Half of a Yellow Sun, which is scheduled to shoot in London and Nigeria in the coming months.

Based on the acclaimed novel by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Half of a Yellow Sun charts Biafra’s struggle to establish an independent republic in Nigeria, and the chilling violence that followed.

Dominic Cooper is in talks to join Thandie Newton and Chewitel Ejiofor on the cast of the Potboiler production.

Boyega, a 2011 Screen Star of Tomorrow, co-starred in Junkhearts with Eddie Marsan and Romala Garai and most recently played the lead role in Spike Lee’s HBO pilot Da Brick.
