After The Orphanage and Julia’s Eyes, Spanish production company Rodar y Rodar is readying The Body (El cuerpo), in which Belén Rueda [pictured] is again the lead actress.

Oriol Paulo, the screenwriter of Julia’s Eyes, writes and also makes his feature directorial debut.

The Body will start shooting in mid-January and it marks a new collaboration between Rodar y Rodar and Antena 3 after Julia’s Eyes. Guillem Morales’ film was released in more than 20 countries, and was a big hit in Spain making almost $9.6m (Euros 7m) at the box office. in the Box Office (9.6 million dollars).

Joaquín Padró, Mar Targarona, Mercedes Gamero and Mikel Lejarza will produce The Body, which will be distributed in Spain by Sony Pictures.

DeaPlaneta will sell internationally and introduce the project to buyers at next week’s AFM.

The film is about a police inspector who investigates a body’s mysterious disappearance from the morgue.

Rueda and Jose Coronado will star.

The most recent production from Rodar y Rodar and Antena 3 is XP3D, with a cast of young Spanish stars including Amaia Salamanca and Maxi Iglesias. It will open in Spain on Dec 28.
