Visual effects artist Steve Gomez’s debut feature follows a group of soldiers who are sent to a remote island to test the latest class of military robot.

The action sci-fi will shoot for six weeks in the UK.

Screen Star of Tomorrow Vanessa Kirby and Thure Lindhardt star, alongside David Ajala, Bentley Kalu, Mike Noble, Tom McKay, Osi Okerafor and Kelly Gough.

Producer James Richardson commented: “Whilst working on Monsters we jokingly asked if Gareth [Edwards] had a clone and without hesitation he said Steve Gomez. Gomez and Edwards have been friends since university following a similar career path until Edwards created Monsters. Gomez came and pitched the robot fest that is Kill Command and we knew immediately we had a very exciting film with a very exciting director at the helm.”

Kill Command is a sci-fi action thriller that explores the potential consequences of pursuing an artificial intelligence more powerful than anything mankind could control. Steve is a very special kind of director and we’re hoping to showcase his unique take on this genre,” added producer Allan Niblo.

Vertigo Distribution will handle UK & Eire with Protagonist handling international sales
