Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini will direct the former Saturday Night Live alumnus hot off the heels of her starring role in Universal’s smash comedy Bridesmaids.

This will be the first project for Maven, launched by Celine Rattray and Trudie Styler shortly before Cannes. Production is scheduled to kick off in New York on Aug 8.

Michelle Morgan wrote the screenplay about a New York playwright who stages her own suicide to win back her boyfriend and as a result is forced into the custody of her gambler mother.

Wiig and Morgan will serve as executive producers alongside Anonymous Content’s Steve Golin while Anonymous Content’s Alix Madigan will produce with Rattray and Styler.

In a joint statement, the Maven principals said Imogene contained “all the key elements” of their ideal project.

Madigan and Golin developed the comedy and brought on their clients Berman and Pulcini before taking the project to Maven.
