Peter Firth, Spain’s Leonor Watling, Antonio Gil and Maria Botto and New Zealand’s Cliff Curtis have joined LD Entertainment’s Biblical thriller.

Kevin Reynolds’ epic early first-century mystery-thriller stars Joseph Fiennes and Tom Felton and has begun production in Malta.

Firth will play Pontius Pilate opposite Fiennes (pictured) as an agnostic Roman Centurion tasked by Pilate to locate the missing body of Jesus in order to suppress an uprising at a time when rumours of the second coming are gathering momentum.

Patrick Aiello produces alongside LD Entertainment CEO Mickey Liddell and head of production Pete Shilaimon.

LD is financing Clavius and has earmarked an Easter weekend 2015 release. Paul Aiello wrote the screenplay with Reynolds.
