25-7 Films and New Black Films are shopping a new documentary feature The Mandela Project, featuring exclusive and recent interviews with the iconic former leader.
Directed and produced by first-time feature makers Kemal Akhtar and Kweku Mandela, Nelson Mandela’s grandson, the film is co-produced by Victoria Gregory (Man on Wire, Senna) and executive produced by James Erskine (From The Ashes) and Deepak Sikka (The King’s Speech, Ironclad).

The $3m-budgeted doc, currently in pre-production, will feature a number of high profile interviewees and is being courted by a number of major sales agents and distributors.

Executive Producer James Erskine said: “In this film, we attempt to make not only the definitive portrait of one of the greatest figures of the 20th century, but an intimate heartwarming portrait of a man and his family. “
