The Bottle Shock film-making team of Randall Miller and Jody Savin have lined up an untitled project about legendary club CBGB’s and the birth of the New York punk scene.

The story will follow Hilly Kristal’s venue from its origins as Country, Bluegrass and Blues (CBGB’s) to the birthplace of American underground rock ‘n roll featuring seminal bands like the Talking Heads, Ramones, Blondie, Television and Patti Smith. Shootinf is set for summer 2011.

“Hilly was a true lover of the arts,” Miller said. “This film has the makings of a tour-de-force performance in the hands of the right actor.”

“This is a film about an era of music, about a place that I hung out at in New York in the early 80’s and about an unsung champion of new music,” Savin added.

Savin and Miller will write the screenplay for Savin to make her directorial debut and the pair will produce through Unclaimed Freight Productions along with musical industry veteran Brad Rosenberger.

Rosenberger, who brought the Dennis Wilson story The Drummer: The Story Of Dennis Wilson Of The Beach Boys to the filmimaking duo earlier this year, will secure all the necessary music.
