MK2 has announced a new documentary, Hackonomics - No Hacking, No Surfing, which will go into production in autumn of this year.

The film will head into pre-production this month and will be directed by Etienne Rouillon for MK2’s multimedia label 360°.

The documentary will cover the history of web piracy and hackers, from Napster to Pirate Bay, and examine the current climate in the illegal download world and the stories of the battles fought by pioneers on both sides of the law.

The film asks the question, “What if web pirates had never existed? What would the internet look like?”

Hackonomics is produced by Charles Gillibert with MK2 handling all international sales.
