Lukas Moodysson and UK writer-director Duane Hopkins were among the beneficiaries from the Swedish Film Institute’s latest round of production funding.

Moodysson’s 1980s set teen drama Vi ar Bast!, produced by regular Lars Jönsson, received $1.6m, while writer-director Hopkins’ drama Bypass got $74,000.

Producers Mimmi Spång and Rebecka Lafrenz, who produced Sebbe, Cockpit and Call Girl, winner of Fipresci Discovery Prize in Toronto, received $900,000 backing for psychological thriller Blowfly Park.

Other recipients included Johanna St Michaels for documentary Penthouse North, Carl Javer’s Freak Out! And Nima Sarvestani and Maryam Ebrahimi’s No Burgas Behind Bars.
