Following the sale in Toronto of their comedy Imogene to Roadside Attractions / Lionsgate, Trudie Styler and Celine Rattray said on Tuesday (25) they will produce the bowling comedy.

Kenny Smith Jr will write the screenplay about a former bowling champion and ex-con who sets his sights on a city-wide tournament as a way of clearing his name and reconnecting with his teenage daughter.

Federal Films’ David Schulhof and Monte Lipman will also produce Rollin’ Thunder. Lipman also serves as president and CEO of Universal Republic Records and the company will oversee the soundtrack.

“This film paints a unique picture of a world that hasn’t been portrayed onscreen,” said Styler and Rattray (pictured). “Between Kenny’s sharp writing and the opportunity to work on a music-driven project based in the world of hip-hop, it’s something new and exciting for us here at Maven.”
