The company has also corrected Bulgarian newspaper reports and confirmed that stunt doubles for Sylvester Stallone (pictured) and Jet Li were not involved in last week’s accident.

The incident occurred during second unit filming on Oct 27 on Lake Ognyanovo, resulting in one death and one serious injury to a stuntman. Stuntmen for Stallone and Li as well as the main cast, director Simon West and the crew, were several hours away in the village of Bansko.

Second unit filming has been suspended and is expected to resume shortly, however main unit production continues as scheduled while the filmmakers work with local authorities to investigate the incident.

“Our deepest condolences go to the family of Kun Lieu,” Nu Image/Millennium Films said in a statement. His passing is tragic.

“Our sympathies also go to Nuo Sun, who was seriously injured as a result of the same explosion. We have been informed his condition has stabilised. He has been transported to Munich, Germany, where he is receiving top medical care from the best specialists.”
