Shooting on the dramedy is set to commence on Apr 25 in New York, Summit Entertainment and OddLot Entertainment announced on Wednesday [24].
Draft Day’s ensemble cast includes Kevin Costner, Jennifer Garner, Ellen Burstyn and Denis Leary.
Ivan Reitman directs from a screenplay by Rajiv Joseph and Scott Rothman about an American football general manager who faces a fateful day when his actions will determine the futures of hundreds of young players.
OddLot Entertainment is co-financing the film with Summit. Production will move to Cleveland after the New York segment.
Reitman and OddLot’s CEO Gigi Pritzker produce along with Joe Medjuck as well as Ali Bell of Reitman’s Montecito Picture Company. Montecito’s Tom Pollock and Michael Buegg will serve as executive producers.
Lionsgate production chief Erik Feig and Summit Entertainment evp of production Meredith Milton will oversee the project for the studio.
OddLot’s evp of production and development Linda McDonough will oversee the project on behalf of OddLot.
