Pathe inks first look deal with The Iron Lady producer who is currently working on period-drama Belle from writer-director Amma Asante.

Pathe UK has inked a first-look deal with producer Damian Jones after their successful collaboration on The Iron Lady and before that, Adulthood.

Cameron McCracken MD of Pathé UK said: “I am delighted to be able to expand on our existing production and distribution relationship with Damian. He has a remarkably consistent track record in recognising smart commercial film ideas. Over the years he has brought us some of our most successful titles – long may he continue to do so!”.

DJ Films currently has sports film Fast Girls in post and Jones was in Berlin with new period-drama Belle from writer-director Amma Asante. His previous credits include Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, The History Boys and Kidulthood.

Pathé UK also has first-look deals with Christian Colson (Cloud Eight Films) and Matt Wilkinson (Stigma Films), with whom Pathé is developing a slate of genre titles.
