Marvel took to Twitter at the weekend (June 7) to announce its replacement for Edgar Wright, who departed the project last month over what is understood to be creative differences.
Adam McKay will contribute to the screenplay about Scott Lang, a con artist with the power to shrink in size yet increase in strength.
The trickster must harness his inner strength to help his mentor, Dr Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his Ant-Man suit. Together they plot to pull off a heist that could save the world.
Reed’s credits include Yes Man, Bring It On and The Break-Up.
Ant-Man is scheduled to open through Disney on July 17, 2015.
