The new 30,000 sq ft stage is currently being used for Working Title’s Les Miserables.

David Puttnam and Pinewood chairman Michael Grade officially unveiled Pinewood’s new Richard Attenborough stage yesterday (April 23).

The new 30,000 sq foot stage will be the second largest at Pinewood and has increased stage capacity at the studio by 7%. It will be used in both film and television production.

Named after British director/actor Richard Attenborough who was involved in 36 films at Pinewood and Shepperton, the new stage is already being used for Working Title/Universal’s Les Miserables, directed by Tom Hooper and starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway.

The new stage was first announced in February 2011.
