Producers Julie Pacino and Jennifer DeLia are headed to Cannes to stage talks on financing and casting for their newly acquired Mary Pickford project.

“With no intention of creating a conventional biopic, we will use the language of film to hopscotch through time, in order to tell the story of a woman so ahead of her time who was living one of the most romantic love stories of all time,” Pacino and DeLia said in a joint statement.

Pacino and DeLia’s production company Poverty Row Entertainment, along with producer Said Zahraoui, have set Josh Fagin to write the script ahead of an anticipated early 2013 production start.

Steven Beer at Greenberg Traurig and Said Zahraoui negotiated the acquisition for Poverty Row.
