QED International and CAA declined to comment on Wednesday [Apr 3] after reports emerged that the A-lister is in final talks to star in David Ayer’s forthcoming WWII tank thriller.

Financier QED International is producing Fury alongside John Lesher’s Le Grisbi Productions and will commence pre-sales at Cannes next month.

Production is scheduled to kick off later this year on Fury, about the crew of an American tank engaged in battle with a desperate German enemy towards the end of the war in 1945. Ayer, whose recent credits include End Of Watch, will direct from his screenplay.

In February QED International paid what is believed to be $1m for the script, prompting CEO Bill Block at the time to call it “the biggest acquisition in QED’s history.”

The company is collaborating with Ayer and Lesher on the Arnold Schwarzenegger action thriller Ten, which Open Road is set to release in the US in January 2014.
