San Francisco Film Society and Kenneth Rainin Foundation have announced the 12 finalists for the latest round of SFFS / Kenneth Rainin Foundation Filmmaking Grants.

More than $300,000 will be awarded to one or more narrative feature films at any stage of production.

SFFS / KRF Filmmaking Grants are awarded twice annually to film projects that will have “significant economic or professional impact on the Bay Area filmmaking community.”

Recent SFFS / KRF Filmmaking Grant winners include SXSW hit Short Term 12 [pictured] and Ryan Coogler’s debut feature Fruitvale, which won awards at Sundance.

The finallists are: Rod Blackhurst (North); Jonas Carpignano (A Chjana); Grainger David (Nocturne, working title); Ian Hendrie and Jyson McLean (Mercy Road); Dan Kern (Relapse); Maryam Keshavarz and Paolo Marinou-Blanco (The Last Harem); Richard Levien (La Migra); Zeresenay Mehari (Dare); Tommy Oliver (1982); Vendela Vida (Let The Northern Lights Erase Your Name); Caroline von Kuhn (The Fixer); and Josef Wladyka (Manos Sucias).
