Romeo And Juliet will start shooting this summer.

Shakespeare 4 Kidz, the UK Shakespeare Company for Children and Young People is developing its first feature film version of Romeo And Juliet.

It is the first in a series of planned filmed adaptations of classic Shakespeare plays which which will also include Macbeth and Hamlet.

Shooting is due to begin this summer in the UK and on location in Europe.

The screenplay has been written and scored by S4K founders Julian Chenery and Matt Gimblett.

Julian Chenery and Per Bergkvist are producing with Stephen Woolfenden making his directorial debut.

Casting is now under way.
