Sandra Nettlebeck has begun shooting in Paris based on her adaptation of Françoise Dorner’s novel La Douceur Assassine. Sidney Kimmel Entertainment (SKE) will co-finance and co-produce and Michael Caine stars.

Bavaria Film International will handle international sales and SKE retains domestic distribution rights. Kimmel will personally serve as producer.

Clémence Poésy, Justin Kirk, Jane Alexander, Anne Alvaro and Gillian Anderson round out the key cast on the story of an American widower who experiences a life-changing encounter with a free-spirited young French woman.

SKE’s production and co-financing slate includes One For The Money starring Katherine Heigl, Gone with Amanda Seyfried, Parker starring Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez and The Place Beyond The Pines starring Ryan Gosling, Bradley Cooper and Eva Mendes. All are expected to open in 2012.

Production on I, Frankenstein starring Aaron Eckhart is scheduled to commence in February.
