Sony Pictures and Annapurna Pictures will partner on the raunchy animation Sausage Party based on a story by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Jonah Hill.

Producers Annapurna Pictures and Point Grey Pictures packaged the project and brought it to Sony, who agreed to finance with Annapurna.

The studio will distribute worldwide and has earmarked 2015 for the tale of a sausage’s quest to discover the truth about his existence.

Nitrogen Studios Canada in Vancouver will handle all CG animation, design, production and post-production.

Megan Ellison, Rogen, Goldberg and Conrad Vernon will produce and Vernon will direct with Greg Tiernan.

Serving as executive producers are Hill, James Weaver, Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir. Hunter and Shaffir will write the screenplay with Rogen and Goldberg (pictured), who most recently collaborated on the hit comedy This Is The End. The partners are currently working on The Interview for Sony as well as The Neighbors.

Columbia Pictures president of production Hannah Minghella and Andrea Giannetti will oversee for the studio and David Distenfeld will do the same for Annapurna.
