Michelle Monaghan and Peter Dinklage have joined Adam Sandler, Kevin James, and Josh Gad in the cast of Sony’s Pixels. Separately, Lionsgate has announced a cast change on The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 2.

Chris Columbus will direct Pixels, the story of a team of old school video game players who are summoned by the President to thwart an alien invasion. Pixels is scheduled for a summer 2015 release.

Tim Herlihy and Timothy Dowling adapted the screenplay from a short film directed by Patrick Jean and produced by One More Production. 

Principal photography will begin in June on the Happy Madison/1492 Pictures production. Happy Madison’s Adam Sandler and Allen Covert produce alongside 1492 Pictures’ Chris Columbus, Michael Barnathan and Mark Radcliffe.

Executive producers are Barry Bernardi, Jack Giarraputo, Tim Herlihy, Heather Parry and Seth Gordon.

Gwendoline Christie from Game Of Thrones replaces Lily Rabe as Commander Lyme after the latter was forced to drop out duo to a conflict with a prior commitment to Much Ado About Nothing at Shakespeare In The Park.
