Barcelona based producers Just Films are set to make an English-language thriller called Transgression, directed by Catalan film-maker Enric Alberich.

Based on a script by Marc Gonzalez in collaboration with Just Films head Joan Ginard, Transgression will be about a wealthy couple whose perfect life is torn apart when intruders burst into their house.

The film is set to shoot in Spain later this year with a leading local and international cast, including Michael Ironside (Terminator: Salvation), Jonathan Keltz (Breach), Carlos Bardem (Cell 211), Maria Grazia Cucinotta (The World Is Not Enough), Fabio Fulco (Vita Smeralda) and rising star Yon Gonzalez (Sex, Party & Lies).

The story is similar to Miguel Angel Vivas’ brutal thriller Kidnapped (Secuestrados), which is currently in official selection at the Sitges Film Festival (running through Oct 17) and has sold to most territories through Filmax.

Ginard’s Just Films have previously collaborated with Julio Fernandez’ Filmax on several films, including Rec directors Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza’s respective films Fragile (2005), starring Calista Flockhart, and Second Name (2002), starring John O’Toole.
