The acclaimed actor [pictured] has narrated the upcoming Grand Prix documentary from Exclusive Media’s Spitfire Pictures label.

Paul Crowder directed the film from a script by longtime creative partner Mark Monroe, who scripted the Oscar winning documentary The Cove and Tillman Story.

“We are honoured that Michael has agreed to lend his voice to our film,” producers Nigel Sinclair of Exclusive Media and Michael Shevloff. “He is one of the most talented actors in the world today as well as being a Formula 1 fan. His charismatic and daring approach to acting lends itself perfectly to our story about a generation of risk takers in a glamorous and dangerous sport. We couldn’t be more excited.”

“Michael Fassbender is a brilliant and fearless actor who will bring all the passion and excitement of our action documentary to life,” said Crowder. “There is truly no better voice to tell this story.”

Spitfire Pictures produces alongside Flat-Out Films and Diamond Docs. The action project features such venerable talking heads as Jackie Stewart, Mario Andretti, Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, Jenson Button, Nigel Mansell and Bernie Ecclestone.

1 will screen on Nov 15 as a special presentation organised by the SXSW Film Festival and The Circuit Of The Americas to commemorate the first night of the 2012 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix in Austin.
