Fledgling New York-based Spygirl Pictures has signed a co-production deal with Northern Ireland’s Causeway Pictures to make Flesh Feast Of The Devil Doll.

The horror adaptation stems from the recently published Dark Horse Comics graphic novel by Alex de Campi.

The story follows a group of teenage girls at a summer camp as they find themselves battling for their lives against an ancient demon and her army of the dead. Production is set for spring 2014.

Spygirl launched in April 2013 and is founded by production and post-production executive Kat Green and Susan Archer from the world of acting, production and finance.

“We brought our experience together and launched Spygirl because we wanted to streamline the process of creating clever genre media,” said Green. “Another important part of our mission is to provide a much-needed platform for works with strong female characters.”

Spygirl has also optioned de Campi’s Bee Vixens From Mars comic from the same Grindhouse series and is preparing the comedy web-series The Adventures Of Shakespeare And Watson: Detectives Of Mystery.
