Meryl Streep, currently channelling Margaret Thatcher on the UK shoot of The Iron Lady, is in final talks to reunite with her The Devil Wears Prada director David Frankel on the project.

Lionsgate will handle international sales on Great Hope Springs, based on Vanessa Taylor’s Black List screenplay about a middle-aged couple who attend a counselling weekend after 30 years of marriage.

Production is scheduled to commence in August. Guymon Casady of Film 360 and Todd Black of Escape Artists banner will produce, with Mandate president Nathan Kahane, Escape Artists’ Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch serving as executive producers.

Film 360 discovered the project and enlisted the partnership of Escape Artists before bringing it to Mandate for financing. 

Mandate’s svp of business affairs negotiated the deals for the company.
