Los Angeles-based Eclectic Pictures and Ineffable Pictures have begun production on Kevin Pollak’s feature directorial debut.
Johnny Simmons, Maria Bello, Brittany Snow, Jane Lynch and JK Simmons star in the biopic about journalist Ken Baker, who suffered from a tumor that prevented him from going through puberty until he was 27.
The cast includes Kumail Nanjiani, Beck Bennett, Paul Wesley, Ken Marino, Ileana Douglas, Charlotte McKinney, Vanessa Ragland, Blake Cooper and Lenora Crichlow.
Production on The Late Bloomer will also shoot in Bulgaria.
Joe Nussbaum, Paul A Kaplan and Mark Torgove, and Kyle Cooper and Austyn Jeffs adapted the screenplay based on Baker’s memoir, Man Made: A Memoir Of My Body.

- Shooting is underway in New York on Cold Iron Pictures and The Film Arcade’s Don’t Think Twice starring Keegan-Michael Key, Gillian Jacobs, Mike Birbiglia, Kate Micucci, Tami Sagher and Chris Gethard. Birbiglia directs from his script about an improv group. UTA negotiated the deal on behalf of the filmmakers with attorney Greg S Bernstein for The Film Arcade.
