Production company Regency Films is relaunching as Raw Production London. The company says the new name aims to reflect its “gritty, truthful films”.

The name change also comes as actor Dexter Fletcher and comedian/actor Ricky Groves join the company as partners. Both have also joined the cast of Raw’s next project Bulla – The Movie, to be directed by Steve Lawson. It will also feature British stars including Omid Djalili and Jools Holland.

The film will see Djalili play a comic and actor called Omid Djalili, who is pulled into the crazed world of psychotic jailbird Bulla (playing himself, in spite of his great resemblance to award-winning comic actor Ricky Grover) when the eponymous thug corrals Djalili to front a “wildlife” documentary about Bulla’s release from prison. Shooting begins in May.

Raw is also behind the forthcoming film-industry mockumentary Just For The Record, starring Rik Mayall, Geoff Bell, Danny Dyer, Victoria Silvstedt and Sean Pertwee; as well as Momentum’s forthcoming vampire/gangster title, Dead Cert. Also in development for 2010 is Pretty Boy, the true-life story of boxer and gangland figure Roy Shaw.
