2015-16 fellows Zelle Bonney, Kristen Davila, Tom Hanada, Salim Lemelle and Carlos Rios began in June the year-long programme designed to identify new and unique voices.

Participants are immersed in the film business and attend filmmaker Q&A’s, studio seminars, development meetings and networking events.

In the past fellows have been paired with mentors such as producers Jason Blum, Michael De Luca, Erica Huggins, Nia Vardalos and Marc Platt.

The programme is supported by Universal film group’s diversity council led by studio chairman Donna Langley and the NBCUniversal corporate diversity team and endorsed by Writers Guild Of America, West.
